Intermediate & Advanced Intensive Information Packet

Thank you for joining us this year for Week of Dance!

Your teachers will be announced here soon :)

Dance Bag

The first day of classes may include ballet, contemporary, tap, musical theatre, or jazz funk. Please bring all your different types of shoes and outfits for these classes.

For many of the classes we will use traditional dance shoes (ballet, tap, jazz), but always bring a pair of tennis shoes to dance in as often jazz, jazz funk, and dance theatre classes will be in tennis shoes. If you don’t have a shoe usually used for a class don’t worry, these are workshop classes so we don’t expect you to have every type of shoe!

For “Ballroom & Musical Theatre” dancers will learn how to dance musical theatre, jazz, and contemporary styles wearing heels, a very important skill for dancers. Dancers may wear heels, character shoes, or tennis shoes. Dance heels are generally this type of shoe (link here). For more tips on what types of heels are best to dance in check out this youtube video (link here).

Dancers can wear their usual assigned dance-wear, but as this is a special workshop series, they may also wear other types of fitted athletic clothing that allow a full range of motion (ex: shorts, leggings, tank tops). We will give some time in between classes for your wardrobe changes! For Hip-hop classes we recommend bringing a hat or extras that help you find your groove.

Water and healthy meals/snacks are very important and recommended to make sure our dancers are strong for the full day of dancing.

Health & Safety

Zoom classes are available for any student’s or families that would prefer this option. Please let us know if there are classes you would rather attend via zoom and we will make arrangements for you.

Injury Prevention is important to all of our teachers. If you have any pre-existing injuries please talk to Ms. Corina on the first day of classes so she can help inform teachers of modifications that may be healthy.
